Norway Fjords with motorcycle :
Day-19 : 22 July 2016 Friday
from Bergen>>>to Gudvangen & Flam :-Total distance : 152 km
I woke up late today. It was 07:30. I went down to the breakfast hall of the Hotel. It is on the ground floor. There were many guests at the breakfast. Breakfast was rich with many items.
After the breakfast we had chat a lot with my wife via Whats Up. We decided to meet together (my wife, my son who was still in Bremen at the Goethe Summer School) in Dusseldorf on July,25th,2016. She was on a trip in Thessaloniki and she would buy a ticket
and they both would meet in Dusseldorf two days ahead than me.
I departed from the Hotel Augustine around 10:30. The traffic is heavy in the direction to Gudvangen. I had already booked a Hotel in Gudvangen. After leaving Bergen the road became narrower. The view was phantastic on both sides of the road. Today 's route is shortest compared with the others. This will make my day easier.
I reached to the Hotel in Gudvangen around 13:15. It is an apart hotel and consists of the local houses and of two storey buildings. The reception building including the restaurant and market is located at the bank of the fjord. Usually the check-in starts at 16:00 but the lady at the reception gave me one of the rooms which was left recently.

There is also a pier for the boats which take the people to Flam and other towns and villages at the fjord. The next boat was departing at 14:30. I hurried to my room and changed my clothing. Then I came back to the pier in order to get in the boat to Flam.
So, it was awesome to watch both side of the fjord while travelling on the boat. The weather was nice and open. I took a lot of pictures all along the fjord.
There is a turn right to the direction of Flam. We took this turn around 15:30. Our boat stopped at the town Undredal and then at Aurland. There are small villages or even small populated areas at both sides of the fjord.
Flam is a little town with a train station. Famous Flam railway is very authentic and old.
This little village is connected to the main net far on the hill side. There is also a luxury hotel
here but it is almost impossible to get a room.
I walked a little bit and have seen the museum. The museum is mainly for the history of the Flam railways. Then I came back to the restaurant and bought a beer and something to eat.
I spent some more time and then I headed to the bus station where I bought my ticket back to Gudvangen. The bus left at 19:00 as it was scheduled. It is only a short distance to Gudvangen. The view is beautiful. When we arrived at the reception building of my hotel I saw alot of tents on the camping area. There was a festival for the ancient Viking people.
It was a camp site full with Viking fans.
It was the whole day in Gudvangen and Flam. Nice places and interesting to see.
